Former BoSox director of baseball operations guy Peter Woodfork has been named assistant g.m. for the D-Backs, joining Josh Byrnes, the BoSox assistant g.m. who took over as general manager in Arizona.
This is noteworthy mainly because Woodfork was the other finalist for the assistant g.m. job in Texas, which ultimately went to Thad Levine.
