ESPN News and .com is reporting Braden Looper is going to sign with the Cards.

3 years 13.5 mil.... seems a little steep. Looper was a horrible closer, but I know the Rangers thought he would look nice in front of Coco.

I'd honestly like to see us pass on Dotel unless we get a very favorable two year deal at a low base salary with incentives. I have a hard time believing he's going to be right in '06.
Why not let Joaquin Benoit setup next year? He has that about hom IMO, and he pitched really well in relief last year.
Spend that money on Washburn or Weaver plus Byung-Hyung Kim to give us some versatility.
But honestly, JD's on a hot streak right now, so whatever he figures is probably smarter than what I would do.
