Just found this today. Not sure if anyone else here knows about it. Richard Durrett, and maybe others, is blogging form the winter meetings for the DMN. Didn't seem to be much info on there that you can't get here. Could be a little more help with breaking stuff though. He also talks some about the Soriano to the Dodgers deal.

I go there frequently. It's quite maddening. They report deals done, then say they're "close", then say they're still a rumor. It's frustrating.

Winter Meetings

I'm not sure exactly what is going on there, but I picture it as being sort of like a seminar. You know, a bunch of guys sitting around in a banquet room listening to a boring list of speakers drone on about the business side of baseball.

If that's the case, then the Rangers should have one of their people signed up to take the podium. He'll say, "I'm pleased to announce that the Texas Rangers will be taking sealed bids for Alfonso Soriano. Those of you who would like to participate, please have your trade proposal to me by 3pm."

Teams should make their best offer. The no-haggle trade!
