Rangers exchange arbitration numbers

Arbitration figures have been exchanged...

Vicente Padilla asked for $4.8 million, and the Rangers have submitted $4.1 million.

Had a horrible year last year and got 4.5 mil from the pirates. If you have any success in the ML you can get a couple mil a year.

I would bet...
that you see Mench and Padilla come to terms before their hearing.  Those gaps are just too narrow for common ground to not be found.

GMJ there's a chance it goes to hearing.

I'd go to
hearing on GMJ.  He's not worth 3 mil.  Well, that's what I think at least.  Save that extra mil to splurge on the other two.

Saw GMJ at the Town Hall last night
one of the nicest players I've ever met.  It was odd that GMJ and the front office appeared at the same function on a day in which they exchanged salary figures.  It wasn't awkward at all, although I kind of expected it to be.

Jon Daniels did say they were committed to GMJ this upcoming season.

Also, the crowd was very boisterous in their acknowledgment of Daniels getting Teixeira signed.

GMJ
3 million for a guy who, if we have any sort of luck, will be a 4th outfielder? That's just silly. He's a decent enough fielder, but he more than makes up for it by being well below average at the plate.

Please, please, please Laynce, prove that your struggles the past two years have been injury-related.

Cause GMJ should never be a full time starter.

Yuck.

Somebody's got to win the West in '06. Why not Texas???
