2007 Draft

Looks like the Rangers will pick either 14th or 15th, depending on what they and the Reds do tomorrow.

While it's been another disappointing year, Texas is guaranteed to:

  • finish at least one game better than 2005
  • keep their first-round draft pick
  • Gotta take some positives where you can!

    Ginn = Overrated..
So is Troy Smith, he gets a 100 yards a game...

    Anthony Gonzalaz is underrated..

    He won't.

    I doubt it
He's listed at 6'1, 215, and sports sites are notoriously generous in the height department.

He's a good enough athlete that I doubt he'd be a UFA, though.

Other than R Jay Soward, USC has produced a pretty good batch of receivers.

    R u assuming he
and CJ go in the top 5 or something? Or do you think CJ will return for his senior year?

I can't see Calvin Johnson going back after this fantastic year, hes already locked a top 4 for sure....  As for Jarret, he will not be in top 7 for sure, maybe not top 10...

    I can see him dropping...

    Well
That's probably because the NFL draft actually matters.

Local FOX network:  ** We'd like to interrupt this broadcast for some breaking news *

We have just received word that Cowboys Star running back, Adrian Peterson, has decided to end his hold out and join the team in 2 weeks.  The 'boys, at 0-7, can use his help to win 3 games this year.

It'd be funny if it weren't true.  I hate you Cowboys fans...

Don't count on us having a early pick to get Peterson though...  I am looking at a very late first rounder...:)

Peterson will go to the cowboys
only if he is the last pick in the first round

    BASEBALL draft
I like picking in the mid-teens.  It isn't the top 5, where picks are as guaranteed as they can get in baseball; but you can get a good guy sliding because of Boras or something (Hochevar, Weaver).  That said; HICKS SHOULD CASH IN THERE.  Snatch up the top 5 guy who teams like Cincy and Seattle will avoid.  Imagine if we had picked Weaver instead of Diamond...

And protecting that pick, if there is FA Compensation this year, is a big deal

    draft
that would be my strategy. mid teens take the top talent guys that slide due to signability, reputation rumors, etc. i'd like to see a college pitcher who would be able to come in and help the team in the bullpen either that september or the next season.
Pimps be damned, it's harder out here for a Rangers fan!

    hwo many guys
have come in and helped the same yr as being drafted?

i think the only 2 from last yr were devine (who got ROCKED) and zimmerman...

its a huge huge huge transition to make from college ball in the summer to the majors in sept

    well
the same year was a stretch, but definately a guy who might be able to pitch the next year. the entire draft is a crapshoot anyway.
