Tim Cowlishaw on Buck
Tim Cowlishaw did a chat session today, and fielded a couple of questions about the Rangers' managerial situation...
He thinks Buck is gone, and that the replacement won't be Baker, Alou or Girardi. He sees Daniels going after someone relatively young, closer in age to the players than Baker or Alou...

Very
Cowlishaw
Have I ever mentioned
His column after the Cowboy game was a typical hatchet job on Bledsoe. "This offense is best when Bledsoe doesn't throw much". Yeah, because he's clearly so bad. If you actually watch the Cowboy games, it often seems like the offense is best when they open up the passing game, the reverse of what he wrote (though I understand, if you get a lead you run a lot in the NFl-no problem with that, but Tenessee is hardly a real game).
There's a lot of Bledsoe haters like at LSB out there who when the Cowboys win, they dont know what to do. They cant say the most important offensive player the QB is good, so they usually end up saying Julious Jones is so good. Give me a break. That's what we call a stretch. I like Jones and all, though.
Hey Shark
They hired the Broncos' offensive coordinator.

Pay attention
Basically he was the OC in Denver but he didn't call the plays. Shanahan did. Kubiak in fact did, but they had two or three so-so years (8-8?) Shahanan took the playcalling duties back again. And Denver started playing good again.
I mean it's so hard to tell with a lot of these guys, but my preliminary evaluation is he's not a great OC. And I stated that on LSB before the season. So the Texans mucking around is not a surprise to me.
It's really hard to tell unless you're a fan of that team whats going on though. For all I know, Kubiak may have been delegating playcalling duties to somebody else in Houston. Some offensive coaches call their own plays some dont. Coker, our ex-OC, doesn't call plays and that's why Miami sucks, for example.
So I dunno, defense and all that factors in too, about all I'm confident saying is Kubiak appeared to be a perhaps decent OC, but not great. Sort of the same thing I thought about Sean Payton.
Another thing
So even if Kubiak was a great OC a subpar first season wouldn't have been shocking. Like Martz in Detroit or (hopefully) Saunders in Washington.
I wouldn't expect Kubiak to reach great heights as I've noted, but judge year two, three etc will be more telling probably.
Also
They very much had the right concept, I'm just not entirely sold on the execution (Kubiak).
Yeah but I'm crazy, but the Houston Texans do exactly as I say. Actions over words.
I really think the Houston Texans should be forced to hire a minority playcaller at all times in the interest of affirmative action, though. I'm sure they'd win a lot with that. Since you know, it doesn't matter.
