Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Since I didn't get any answers on my last Diary

Here it is again:

Most of the options to protect Teixeira in the batting order have dissolved. Gary Sheffield has been traded to the Yankees and Hicks comments that the Rangers will not be looking to sign FA Barry Bonds. Who do you think the Rangers should try to (and have the oppurtunity to) obtain for Tex's protection?

Andre the Jason BOTTS.
HE DROPS 500 FOOT BOMBS with those little plastic yellow bats you get as a kid, just for fun.

In time, TEIXERIA WILL BE PROTECTING HIM.

Umm..
Alou, Drew, Catalonotto, Garciaparra (said he wouldn't mind playing outfield), Cliff Floyd. More options?

nomar
would not last two weeks playing the outfield, can't stay healthy at 1st where you don't run

Moises
Might be comfortable at DH and part some opposition waters.

drew
would be a nice compliment.  he is blooming into a descent player.  him and alou would be nice.  we could probably get them both here for a descent amount of money.  I say give alou two years 6 mil and drew three or four years at 24 mil.  that would only be about 10-11 million a year for two descent hitters and we would still have 30-35 million more to spend on pitching.

Drew
Just opted out of 3/33 from the LAD, so I doubt he's going anywhere for anything less than that.

The bidding for Drew probably starts at 4/48. And he'll get it, too.

if we don't re-sign GMJ......
I look for the Rangers to take a major run at trading for Vernon Wells.

Glad the Rangers are a no on Bonds.  JD Drew -no, no, no
