from ESPN Insider:
Nov 29 - Where's Manny Ramirez going? The Padres are among the many suitors, The Boston Globe reports.
San Diego is offering major league players for Ramirez, a package that presumably would have to include setup man Scott Linebrink or ace Jake Peavy, the newspaper reports. The Red Sox also are interested in first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.
According to The Globe, there are strong indications that the Red Sox would consider paying a portion of Ramirez's salary.
The Dodgers are interested in Ramirez, but the current asking price may be too high. According to The Los Angeles Times, the Red Sox want three players in return from the Dodgers, including outfielder Matt Kemp, L.A.'s top outfield prospect.
"I wouldn't be shocked if the Red Sox traded him by Saturday," a major league official told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
Reading this makes me think we would have to give up MY to get Manny. Or at the least a very very nice package.
