Bueno lawsuit against Frankie/Rangers getting ugly

Wow, man...wow!  Rangers hired a PI to dig up dirt and embarrass the Buenos.

Interesting article.....
but what does the mention of Bush here have to do with anything?:

It recently came out in court that a private eye employed by the Rangers -- the team President Bush co-owned in the early '90s, of course -- had been supposedly making the rounds of Hayward firehouses asking firefighters about a naughty picture of a woman.

damn
It looks like they could settle this without resorting to something like that.  Once this hits all the newspapers the Rangers are going to look like real assholes.

I don't think so
Two reasons.

One, if you take something to court, best be prepared to have all the drawers peeked into.

Two, most Oakland A's fans I know have ridiculed the Bueno couple, and while hating on Francisco, some think they should be permanently banned from A's games.  e.g. they brought it on, even though by statute and convention they are in the right.

It's Just Me
But if Bueno said the things that the Rangers are saying he said, then how isn't his outside conduct relevant character evidence?  The Rangers are going to get hometowned in this case.

That's probably true
...but is it worth the PR hit to fight it THIS way?    Nobody around the country is going to see it the way we see it.

The
The PR war was lost the second that FX2 threw the chair into the stand.  You mught as well fight and win.  If the Rangers settle this do you really think that the A's fans are going to saw, awwwww, the Rangers are awesome.

Nah
I'm not saying we're trying to get A's fans to be Rangers fans.  That would be ridiculous.  I'm talking about sweeping this under the rug to keep it from embarrassing the organization nationwide.  Settle it out of court and move on...that's all I'm saying.

I don't know what Bueno said, but it must've been vile and I certainly don't like the fact that I'm advocating taking him off the hook for his behavior, but I question the logic of making this thing public once again.

Damage
Damage is already done.  Everyone saw the incident when it happened.  When/if a settlement is reached, it will be replayed.  The damage is done, settling it will do nothing to fix any damage to any reputation, or to stop it from ever being mentioned again.  The Rangers, as an organization, won't be embarrassed nationwide.  So you might as well go and win.

What he said
By many accounts, he mocked Brocail about his stillborn child. Also, reportedly, there were your typical latino epithets, lettuce picker, day laboring illegal, etc. I don't think there is any way to put a "good-natured heckler" spin on that crap.

That dude is your typical size-large asshole, the type who boorishly thinks he's entertaining the home team crowd by droning on and on, endlessly chirp chirp chirping.

I don't want to hear that tedious shit from anyone; its just as obnoxious when the "fan" is on your side.

But furthermore, this Bueno clown really rubs me wrong. Is it just me, or does he look annoyingly like Beane?

This next comment may piss alot of people off, but I have always found it comforting when a bigtime douchebag has a bruising behemoth of a wife.

I found that to be the case frequently in my naval career.

Even better, an A's fan.

a bunch of rumors
according to Brocail though, he charged the guy so that security would have to remove him. nice going, doug.

Yup
the guy is a big time douche, and his wife had an unfortunate run in with the ugly stick.

The best part is, watching that video, that as the ruckus starts, Bueno decides to do the manly thing and shield his wife while simultaneously baiting the Rangers players by motioning with his hands in the universal sign to "bring it on!" And then as soon as Franky throws the chair he ducks out of the way, knowing full well that his wife is right behind him.

I hope he doesn't get a penny.

Ugly, indeed.

I still giggle everytime I see this picture.

who really cares?
Unless the court system awards the Bueno's so much money that it cripples Tom Hicks' ability to pay the bills and bring in new players, does it really matter to Ranger fans what the outcome of this is?  If we're fans of the Rangers, we'll still be fans regardless of this stupid lawsuit.  People who aren't Rangers fans probably won't care either way, and the whole thing will be forgotten by everybody other than A's and Rangers fans a couple of days after the verdict...

Im still amazed
at how much love a complete thug like Frankie gets when Rogers gets so much hate.

The Rangers ought to be ashamed at this.  What a scumbag franchise.
