DMN Article on Zito

Can someone please tell me, what was the point of this article? I have read through it twice, and I must say I am at a loss.

I don't normally have anything against Sherrington, but this article seems to go on without a real point. I have been very disappointed with the DMN staff as a whole recently.

Don't let the title of this piece fool you, there is not any real solid opinions or new information in this article.

eh, Sherrington's a columnist not a beat writer

his job is to turn in a column twice a week where he spouts off his opinions.

In theory, its Evan Grant's job to report the news and Sherrington's job to give meaning to the news.

Didn't like the colum

I read that too and I must say, he was probably trying to be funny and/or sarcastic and all he really did was make fans realize how many things the Rangers have working against them when trying to sign big-name free agents.

This article was already done...

I forget who it was.. think it was Newberg that did an article to this effect on Roger Clemens around the same time last year - Newberg's was better, by the way - listing the pros of Clemenes coming here, making it sound absolutely irrasistable to come here.

But, your right. The article doesn't make any sense. There's no new news about the subject except for the NY story yesterday.

Rich in sarchasm

and little on content is how I would describe it. Given our history a little of this type of coverage is deserved but what was the point of the column? fill space I guess.
Here is hoping JD can pull off the mirical and sign Zito and Mulder. If he fails to do this then we are worse off this year than we were a year ago.

...although, I imagine he has an editor to fix those. I'm sending him to the penalty box for writing an article that adds nothing to the conversation.
