Juan Rivera - Broken Leg

Juan Rivera sustained a broken left tibia while playing winter ball in Venezuela on Friday.

Rivera's left leg has been placed in a cast and he will be flown to Miami, where he will be re-examined by a trauma specialist tomorrow. Depending on how severe the break is, he might not be ready for the beginning of the season. If he is ready, at least the Angels will finally have a good excuse for using him as a DH and Garret Anderson in the outfield. A severe break would increase the chances that the Angels sign Shea Hillenbrand and might cause them to give Aubrey Huff's agent a call. Dec. 22 - 11:32 pm et

All he ever did was get thrown at for no reason by Eaton and Padilla.

He's a f#cking peacock.....he was the reason the whole beanball war started.....he probably posed at homeplate and somebody picked up his bat & whacked him with it.....I hope he comes back quick 'cause I'd love to see Padilla stick one in his ear hole on April 4th (also 'cause that'll mean Millwood & Zito started on April 2nd & 3rd).

Yes, no reason

Adam Eaton gave up a home run to Anderson and then threw behind Rivera. Then in another game, Padilla gave up a home run to Vlad and threw at Rivera.

But he had previously stood at homeplate

and posed after a home run....that's why he was the perfect guy to plunk....then he had his little screaming (after he got back to the dugout, BTW) tantrum, calling out the Ranger's, so fuck him! I wish he'd have broken BOTH legs.

In that case

He should have been hit later in the game that he actually stood at home plate shouldn't he? If he wasn't then the pitchers that didn't throw at him are gutless right?

I've actually seen it...

in my dreams.. Some Nicaraguan, dressed in a Volquez-type afro took the mound in that winter ball game. He had a crazy look in his eye, like he might be a little drunk. Then he muttered something to himself and heaved the fastest fastball I've ever seen right at Rivera's legs. Rivera collapsed to the enjoyment of the fans, while they shouted, "You missed his head!"

you are a bunch of assholes. I don't care if Rivera is the worst SOB on Earth I can't hope anything bad happens to him. I just hope nothing GOOD happens to him. Don't be evil or angry. I would rather he be healthy and the Rangers just beat the holy shit out of them in every game.
