Angels sign Hillenbrand

I really like this move, and Angels fans hate it, if this is the only bat they get this offseason, then we easily have a chance in this division. They also won't have Rivera the whole season because of the leg injury.

Rivera is out for the season?
I'd hate this move if I were an Angel fan as well. Hillenbrand has been hated everywhere he went. He's sure to starting bitching about something at some point.

A little optimistic to think the
The A's lost Thomas and Zito but still won 13 more games than the Rangers. The Angels experienced a bunch of injuries and still kill the Rangers. I like the moves this off season so far but the Rangers will still have to prove it on the field (which I am rooting for). Until that happens or a major trade/FA signing makes this team dramatically better I still see them as a thrid place team. Still need rotation help. Tejeda and McCarthy have combined for around 300IP in the majors. I like them both but am not ready to predict Cy Young type of performances just yet.
Lets se what the rest of the off season has to offer. Hopefully it will bring good things for us Ranger fans.

Here's what ROTOWORLD.com says about it:
_______________
He'll make $6 million next year. The option for 2008 is worth $6.5 million and includes a $500,000 buyout. Hillenbrand is too poor of a defender to be an everyday third baseman. Instead, the Angels are getting a first baseman or a DH with a career line of .287/.325/.449 compiled while spending almost his entire career in quality hitter's parks. His career high in OPS is 812 and he's never driven in more than 83 runs. Also, he's got a fun over-inflated sense of self worth to deal with. That it's just a one-year contract makes him a tolerable option. The Angels, though, needed an impact bat this winter and it looks like they won't get one.
