Rule 5
The Rangers lost Alfredo Simon to the O's, and did not make a pick in the major-league portion of the Rule 5 draft. The Cubs took Josh Hamilton from the Rays; the Yanks took Josh Phelps from the O's.

I haven't seen the minor-league picks posted yet.

A's
Athletics selected LHP Jay Marshall from the White Sox in Thursday's Rule 5 draft.
Marshall had a 1.02 ERA and 44/8 K/BB ratio in 62 IP for Single-A Winston-Salem last season and was simply unbelievable against left-handers, not giving up a walk or a homer to one all year long. He doesn't have the same stuff as Fabio Castro, the left-hander the White Sox lost in last year's draft, but he is worth a closer look.
Love the Fabio Castro gut punch they slip in there...

What about Goleski?
I thought it was funny that Seattle used Pittsburgh's pick to take a Pirate.
