Let me get this straight

I'm living in Austin right now and am trying to figure out the best way to see the most games this season.  I see that FSN will have 80 games this year and know that I can get all of those via DirecTV, either with the regular channel or the alternate.

However, I need a way to get the 75 over the air broadcasts.  It is my understanding that I won't be able to get those with the Extra Innings package or MLB.tv.  Is that right and is there any way for me to get these or am I simply out of luck?

Out of luck
Unless one of the Austin stations picks up the over-the-air broadcasts.

you are screwed
i live in the east texas/ louisiana border area, and i am in the same boat as you.  after living in arlington for three years going to UTA and getting every game, now living over here really sucks.  but yeah, i bought the extra innings package my first year over here assuming i would get the rangers broadcasts, but they black out every one.

Last year
...Time-Warner had some of the games on a channel that was normally a home shopping station.  I found it totally by mistake.

The only things I miss about Dallas are my sainted mother and watching Rangers games.

I live in Austin
And I can get almost every Ranger game on Time Warner cable it will either be on FSW (54) or on channel 77, which is a leased access channel.  They will put the Astros game on one and the Rangers on the other.  I don't know about direct TV though.

MLB.com
I bought the extra innings thing and they were blacked out.  They are available on the extra innings about an hour after the game has ended.  I couldn't avoid seeing the score so it wasn't worth it.  Also starting a game at 10:30 was not ideal.  It is an option though.

XM Radio
You can every game with XM Radio.  The price is a lot better than TV, though you don't get the visual.  Maybe it is just me, but I find listening to the games on the radio to be quite fun.  The only thing is with XM Radio is that they will use the broadcasting team of the larger media market.
Bart: [sees Homer's homemade bat] Wow! How many home runs you gonna hit with that? Homer: Let's see. We play 30 games. 10 at-bats a game. Mmm...3,000.
