Eric Hurley: liftoff
Hurley was having a fine season so far, but tonight he just exploded:
8 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 15 K
Which makes his season line:
43.2 IP, 32 H, 8 BB, 44 K, 2.06 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 5.5 K/BB
Keep in mind, the Cal League is a hitters league, an even when Danks and Diamond were dominating Cal hitters last year, their numbers were as impressive all-around as Hurley's are right now.

I just saw that
also
I only find that significant only because it indicates that if, for some reason, Hurley doesn't make it as a starter, he could be a dominant closer.
Reeeeeeeeee
I hereby mandate that all Rangers pitching prospects must grow goofy 'staches.
(What you thought you could start a Hurley thread without mention of the 'stache? Not on my watch, buddy.)
Wow
That is dominating.

Diamond's Cal League
FYI: Diamond went 8-0 with a 1.99 ERA, and 101 K's in 81 IP. The league hit .191 against him.
re:
Hurley isn't striking out guys as frequently as Diamond, but he also isn't walking nearly as many, hence his lower WHIP.
I think Diamond's future may be in the bullpen.
