Feldman up, Tejeda down, Shouse DFA'd

Not surprisingly, Robinson Tejeda was optioned to AAA today.

Surprisingly, though, Brian Shouse was not activated from the disabled list to take his place.

Instead, Scott Feldman was recalled from AAA, and Shouse was designated for assignment.

I'm surprised, and a bit disappointed, about the Shouse move. I'd rather have seen him back up, and C.J. Wilson back in AAA.

I'll be interested in seeing whether the Rangers try to get something for Shouse, or if he'll just be put on waivers.

I don't understand

this apparent love of CJ. The BAA is not horrible (.263), but everything else seems to be. In 10.2 IP, he's given up 3 HRs, 7 ER, 7 BB, and 10 hits. He was bad in 2005, and I haven't seen marked improvement. He needs to be sent down to get some work in. I do like the Feldman call.

To be fair....

CJ Wilson was horrid as a starter but mediocre as a reliever:

Stats as a starter:
H HR BB K ERA IP
45 4 8 11 12.05 22.2

Stats as a reliever:
H HR BB K ERA IP
18 1 10 19 2.73 26.1

However, the sample is small enough that I wanted Wilson in AAA to prove that the reliever stats wasn't a fluke.

Alas, CJ has the "good face."

Huh?

Jon Daniels must not have full control of roster moves; if he did, CJ Wilson would be in the minor leagues. CJ is the latest example of a Buck pet, and a real GM would make moves without considering Buck's strange favoritisms. Shouse was a reliable lefty, so I'm sad to see him DFA.

Not like

Shouse has been tearing it up in the bigs this season, or on his minor league rehab. I agree that CJ Wilson is crap but i guess its on of those gambles that can back fire. We really dont need to be giving up on Veteran lefty relievers though.
