Gammons loves the Angles
Peter Gammons is impressed with how Anaheim has hung in there, and says that everyone fears them because of their great starting pitching...
Uh-huh...

I don't fear the Angels

I'm not counting them out...
I think they are a lot less likely than either Texas or Oakland to end up winning the division.
They aren't that good.

angels
Symptomatic
Angels 11 hits, L'Eggs 7 hits. The Halos can no longer manufacture runs. No matter how well they may pitch later on, scoring runs remains a problem. One game they may get 12. Then two or less each day the rest of the week.

I understand the love
That being said, screw the Angels.
Unfortunately you're right.
Yeah, I really fear Jered Weaver
Which of their pitchers are scary?
Colon is good when he's on, but who knows when that's gonna be. Lackey's consistent, but not really dominant. Escobar is amore injury-prone version Padilla, with a bigger contract to boot. The Weaver's suck.
There are two reasons to fear the Angels: Their 'pen, and Vadamir Freaking Guerrero.
angels
vlad's hit streak has to end.
and i guess i rate jered weaver a little higher than some.
krod and shields are definately 2 of the best bullpen guys in the al in my opinion.
