No more platoon
Over on the DMN's Rangers blog Evena grant has a post saying that the platooning is over for Mench and Wilkerson and they wills tart seeing a majotiy of the playing time.
Rangers: No more platooning. ... for now
The Rangers are going back to playing Kevin Mench and Brad Wilkerson every day. The duo was in the starting lineup Thursday (Mench was the DH; Wilkerson was in left), and Rangers manager Buck Showalter told them both that he planned to play them with more consistency.
The platoon situation that had evolved over the final 40 games of the first half simply wasn't working. Wilkerson and Mench combined to hit .211 over those 40 games. If this team is going to flex it's offensive muscle, one or both of those two hitters has got to get hot. To his credit, Wilkerson has made no excuses for his poor performance this season, but you can expect he will be having off-season surgery on his right shoulder.

Good
I'm pumped about this.
(Of course, a 15-1 win will do that to you:)

this is the right move
ive complained as much as anyone about them, but starting the 2nd half its time to choose our team and hope for the best.
especially when the guys getting the AB's were hairston who cant hit and Botts who needs to be AAA if hes not going to get to play.
