Danks tonight
6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K
90 pitches, 57 strikes
That brings his AAA numbers to:
18 IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 17 K
2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP
I can't help but think that John read Kevin Goldstein's article on how he wasn't going to be as good as everyone thought, because since his numbers from May 5th on have been pretty incredible.

John Sickels
I thought bumping him to AAA as quickly as they did was a mistake, as him nice run in AA hadn't been that long, but it sure looks like he was ready for the next level.

Very impressive, but...
Maybe as a Sept callup if he keeps it up. I would like nothing more though than for Volquez amd Diamond to also have a great second half and all three be in the Rangers rotation next year. It would be 1986 all over again when Witt, Guzman, and Correa provided us with great hope.

Witt, Guzman, and Correa
We need to be (1) careful with Danks, Volquez, Diamond and Hurley, and (2) realistic about the odds of two or three pitchers successfully breaking into a rotation in the same year.

Danks, Volquez, Diamond & Hurley........
Danks and Volquez should get September call-ups, at the very least.....get their feet wet (for Volquez a second time) with hopes for next year. And I wouldn't have a problem with one or both making a spot start in a pinch.
Diamond is going nowhere fast if he doesn't get command of the strike zone. BB's per inning usually double in the Big's.
Hurley needs more time in the minors......a decent progression thru AA & AAA.
I've been saying for a while now
