Lone Star Blog Thank You

This note is just to say thanks to "Rob" for offering the tickets for tonight's game. My 2 sons and 3 friends went out and had a great time at the game. Then they recieved the bonus of the Jim Sundberg Bobbleheads, which are very nice by the way. I called them while they were at the game and told them that "Sunny" was signing the bobbleheads and could they get one for their 88 year old Great Grandmother. They just came home and showed me the autographs, and they are greatness, I then told my boys, that their Great Grandmother's favorite player of all time is Jim Sundberg. She will be thrilled beyond description.

So in closing, "Rob" was just giving away 5 dollar tickets so they wouldn't go to waste, but I wanted to let him know how much they were appreciated on this end. The Boys did a great thing for their Grandmother, and I can't wait to see her face when they give it to her, tomorrow.

Thanks Again,
Kevin

It was a thrill to get to meet Sunny ...
... he was my favorite Ranger when I was little.  I'm saving the signed bobbleheads we got tonight for my sons ... not that they'll really appreciate who Sunny is or anything, but it was still a big deal for their old man.

Jim's family was...
friends with our family growing up.  I went to school with his son Aaron and our families attended church together for awhile.  Jim is definitely a class act and it's great to see him still doing good things with the Rangers.
Blow this team up, they have no chemistry, no heart and no balls. They should be ashamed to be called "professionals."

I couldn't make it to the game
But I'd really like to have one of those bobbleheads, signed or otherwise.  I don't really collect stuff, but Sundberg is different because he actually did something really wonderful for my family way back in his playing days.  I'd like to get the bobblehead as a gift for my mom.

If anyone has an extra they'd like to sell, let me know.

is the story too personal?
just curious, it is always nice to hear the story of someone helping others.

Terminally ill family member
Sundberg made a hospital visit, which I guess is a pretty common thing for athletes to do, but he stayed a long time and was apparently really great.

that is still pretty cool
it probably happens less now.

Thanks
I might do that, but I'd rather not buy from one of those dealers if I can help it.
