Familiar refrain regarding AJ Preller

Chris Kline, one of the BA staff writers, did Jim Callis' weekly chat yesterday and had a surprising answer to the common Latin signing question:

"Kyle(Rochester, NY): In your opinion, who has had the best international free agency summer up to this point?

SportsNation Chris Kline: OK, this question goes with this answer . . . can you tell I'm a rookie? . . . I'll go with the Rangers, just for volume's sake. And A.J. Preller is a name you'll want to remember in terms of the Rangers' future success on the international market."

From what I've read, the only player among the top, top names that the Rangers were in on near the end and lost out on was Esmeily Gonzalez. And on ESPN's rankings, they signed none of the top ten and only one of the top 20 (Wilmer Font). A couple of the players got as much of a bonus as all of the Rangers signees together. Yet for the second straight year, some observers seem to think that they may have signed the best group.

You gotta hand it to that guy.
