The Nix thing doesn't surprise me at all, cause when you suck, you suck, and Laynce Nix sucks at baseball.

But I would've thought Mench would thrive immediately as he emerged from the opressive shadow of Darth Buckles.

call me crazy...

I think the trade of Coco, Nix and Mench is going to stink worse and worse the longer Carlos Lee's dufus fielding costs us games. He is not worth the dollars he is going to demand to stay with us, and it makes one wonder if this trade was made on the emotion of Coco blowing saves or personal reasons with Mench.

At the time, everyone was admiring the new set of brass balls JD had gotten and his willingness to deal....

Well

the exposure wasn't that great in that deal, that was mostly what I liked about it. You lost one year of whatever Cordero will give you. Besides that, I kind of hope that their LF is better than Mench anyway.

And looking back, it may wind up being very important that Daniels gave the team every chance to win. Hicks is obviously looking hard for excuses for Buck, and he'll have to scratch that one off the list after the season when he's deciding what to do.

I still love

the fact that we made that deal.

JD gave the team a boost for the playoff run without dipping into our minor league talent. Awesome deal, IMO... unless, of course, we resign Carlos Lee to some sort of mega contract and screw the payroll up for the next 4 or 5 years.

3 players for Cruz....

Cruz' value is yet to be determined over the long haul...

We can't pay the $$$ Lee wants and get pitchers...
We didn't make a playoff run...we were never closer than July...
We gave away pitching in Coco...
We still have Wilkerson who may or may not work out ( I think he should have been in the trade instead of Mench)

Where has all the "fire Buck" enthusiasm gone?
