OT - Jon Kitna trashes Cowboys' defense

http://www.garrettlakers.com/kitna_breakdown.mp3

This is a clip played from Galloway's show this afternoon, in a nutshell Kitna trashes our pass rush, says Newman is no Trufant, Ware is our only pass rusher (That part I agree with) and Bradie James is clueless.

Kitna noted that we play them next year, if we're lucky he'll be the starting QB next year.

yeah
I see this as nothing but good.  It's the truth and it calls out certain people that need to be called out.

James has been really bad
I think he's one of the ones who's been exposed of late. He really tailed off as the year went along.

I do think that Newman is as good as or better than Trufant though.

I'm more concerned
With systemic problems. There was a DMN article after last gameday, the commments from Lions players were more along the lines of, well we know Dallas secondary does this, and they never adjust..

I think it's time to fire Zimmer. And really the offense has been pretty good. Question is will stodgy old Parcells do such a thing this offseason..probably not.

I think Parcells is back..he says him and Jerry have a understanding..speculation is this means TO is out and Bill back..

I think if we fire Zimmer (and assuming we replace him with better, of course), keep Sparano, another year for Romo in the system, we might be 11-5 or so next season..

Hmm
Well I agree with pretty much all of that. I like Zimmer, but it's not a good fit having him coordinate this defense. I'm not sure if there's a great replacement available, but if there is, it could make a difference.

And those weren't the only troubling comments
There were similar comments from the Eagles players the week prior. Indicating lack of adjustments and so forth.

I tried to find the Lions article online, Cowboys plus is free now, but no luck.

It's strange to me the line is only Seattle by 3 for sat's game though, when it's more like 6-7 for the other home teams. Vegas usually knows something..Dallas will probably win :)

Seattle is in bad shape too
The reason the spread is thin is probably because the Cowboys draw money in spite of the spread.

Having said that, Seattle's secondary is in awful shape. Pete Hunter may be on the field against the Cowboys and he was signed earlier this weak. They had to sign some other guy off the street just to have enough players in the secondary.

Next Year
If I'm Parcells and I come back I would get rid of Zimmer and two people on my list to be defensive coordinator.

1. Romeo Crennel - If Cleveland fires him like people think
2  Jim Mora Jr. - He as a very good defensive coordinator before.  Come in and resurrect the Cowboys defense and who knows what could happen for him.

On Galloway's show today he asked Chris Mortensen what names he is hearing if Parcells leaves.  Mortensen mentioned the following three as the names he hears most mentioned.

  1. Bob Stoops - Mentioned all the time as the next head coach for the Cowboys.  I really don't know what to think.  I like his emotion and enthusiasm he brings which would be different than Parcells.  To me Stoops hasn't done much sinc his brother left to Arizona.
  2. Wade Phillips - I don't want him here.  Another retread coach who failed before as an NFL head coach.  This one scares me because he would be the type who wouldn't care about Jerry's control.
  3. Bobby Petrino - Head Coach Louisville Cardinals.  Great young offensive mind.  It would really help Romo out to have a quarterback guru like Petrino.

Wade Phillips??
I'd take him as a defensive coordinator but as a head coach he'd be a total failure.

Stoops and Petrino...bah!  Give me someone who has at least coached in the NFL before.

Well
I'm for Petrino the most out of that list. Offensive guy, supposedly..

The crap thing is it looks like two of the top OC's, Cam Cameron and Ken Whisenhunt, are going to get head jobs this offseason. While we're dilly-dallying another year with Parcells.

Course, I doubt the Cowboys are even interested so it's moot..

I was hoping for Petrino for that Miami job also.

If we had to choose between Owens ...
... and Parcels, I'd grit my teeth and let Bill come back.  Distractions are never good for a football team, and Owens is nothing but a distraction, even when he performs well on the field.

Truth hurts, I guess.........
39 points by Detroit....at HOME !!!

Sean Payton exposed the Cowboys defense and they are in trouble vs. Seattle.

His comments remind me of Dandy Don
talking about Peter Gent. In the reverse, obviously.

While I don't disagree with alot of what he said, I find it pretty fucking funny to hear such colossal arrogance from a 3-13 loser. Might want to win a few before you go speaking your mind like that, studs.

Damn, Mista Kitna, if we would'a eva known you wer so dam smart, we'd ha let you call dem plays and them badass Lions ould be sitting on a playoff bye right bout now, I reckon...

Penalty Box? DONT THINK SO!!!!!!! And i wish everyone could stop writing that crap cause its gay...SUPER GAY!!!! NYTXfan!!!
