I guess we've seen who's the better pitcher.
Beckett should get the Cy.  If fucking Bobby Kielty can own you, you don't deserve it, CC.

Why
does McCarver keep calling Dustin Pedroia, Jusin?

Bad decision by Wedge and
Sabathia was out of control... why in the hell didn't Wedge call to to pen in the fifth ininng???  Sa'bitch'ia I hate you... And Wedge you screwed up not calling to the pen and taking Sa'bitch'ia out. Sa'bitch'ia is so overratted. Damn fat bitch ass flops in the ALCS.

Jimenez
just 100 mph on the gun.  This kid really throws hard.

by jparks77 on Oct 12, 2007 9:35 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Morillo
The Rockies have a very similar pitcher to Jiminez at Triple A in Juan Morillo. He throws even harder (BA said he was once clocked at 104 mph, but I have a very hard time believing that) but has to dramatically improve his command and control before he will be a successful major league pitcher. He made some improvements this year when they made him a full time reliever, so he may be able to be a late inning flame thrower as early as the middle of next season.

by uthornfan on Oct 12, 2007 10:10 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Mirillo
has a terrific arm but apparently his fastball lacks movement.  Could be a recipe for disaster if he doesn't improve his off-speed pitches.

by jparks77 on Oct 12, 2007 10:41 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yep
He needs to either add movement or really improve his command. If he can move his fastball in and out, up and down on cue then he will be fine. Knee high on the outside corner at 100 mph is not getting hit (at least not hard) even if it is straight as an arrow. The problem is that he can't hit his spots and throws too many pitches over the fat part of the plate. He has been pretty hittable for a guy with his raw stuff, so there is still a lot of stuff he needs to work on.

this is a NLCS thread too...

Oh btw the San Jose just scored a TD. 28-14

AH HAHA Hawaii and Colt Brennan OVERRATED.

Dick Tomey
is a hell of a coach. He did a great job in his one year as an assistant at Texas. I just wish our new defensive coaches knew how to teach defense like Tomey and Greg Robinson did when they were at UT in 2004.

by uthornfan on Oct 12, 2007 10:00 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not that familiar with Tomey
But, I'll take your word for that as far him being a damn good defensive coach.

San Jose just scored another TD.

Last year
San Jose State almost beat Boise State. I think they were up 14 or so with five minutes left and blew the game. I am rooting for Hawaii to lose, but I am not sure why.

by uthornfan on Oct 12, 2007 10:04 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm pulling for San Jose State
Hell, if I know why. I am not sure why either other than I liked to see Hawaii lose :) The 16th ranked team in the country and all the hype about Colt Brannon

SJS
probably had the game won when their running back fumbled on their own end of the field. Game is now going to overtime. I haven't watched the game, but Brennan has thrown for about 500 yards, 3 TDs and 4 picks.

by uthornfan on Oct 12, 2007 11:06 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah..
Oh well, Hawaii won 42-35. I still think Hawaii and Colt Brennan are overrated.

Hell, it's the WAC... blah

I'm going to bed.

by LtDan on Oct 12, 2007 11:25 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't
like the way Brennan throws the ball.  He looks like a lazy QB who hides from exposure in the WAC.  I can't see his game translating to the next level.

by jparks77 on Oct 12, 2007 11:28 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Brennan
He is just like Timmy Chang, BJ Symons, Kliff Kingsbury, Andre Ware, David Klingler and all the other quarterbacks that threw the ball 800 time a game in college. Great college QB, lousy pro QB.

by uthornfan on Oct 12, 2007 11:57 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Gagne
I am glad he waited until after the trade to pitch poorly.  We never would have gotten Beltre if he had done that here.

Amare Stoudamire
Did anyone see what that joker was wearing?  A shirt with Stoudamire emblazoned on the FRONT.  And a gold rope around his neck that would bring a tear to MC Ren's eye...

There is no way
that I could handle watching Eric Byrnes flop into somersaults after his throws in, thank goodness the DBacks kept him.

Better learn to love it, Jack
IIRC, Engel Beltre makes some throws in a similar manner.

Rockies
I hope the Rockies make it to the World Series because maybe they have a shot at beating the Red Sox.  God if the Red Sox win it all again, RSN are going to be unbearable.

isn't it ironic?

Don't you think?
I know they were whiny bitches before and now they are cocky cause they have 160 million dollar club.  They don't start there 70 million dollar right fielder.

by BillyBobisdrunk on Oct 13, 2007 12:01 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The Nation doesn't overexpose the Sox
That's the media.  And since they won in 2004, there won't be an overblown story about it this time.

I would hate for the Rockies to win it.  Then we'd have to hear about how they were divinely inspired.
I've had enough of conservative christian values thrust upon me the last eight years, thankyouverymuch.

by chief on Oct 13, 2007 12:14 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yes they do
I have a too many friends that are bandwagon Red Sox fan who talk shit about everyone not just the Yankees.  They shit on the Rangers because they didn't pull the trigger on the Beckett trade.  I just hate them.  I am rooting for the Indians, and if all things fail rooting for the Rockies.

by BillyBobisdrunk on Oct 13, 2007 2:02 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I was listening to a BA podcast the other day
where Manuel (or was it Matthews, can't remember) said they are pretty much a lock to be ranked 30th in their organizational rankings this offseason. Really nice last calendar year for them.

x
That was a sweet catch.  The guy can't hit, but there are worse options at CF for the 2008 Rangers (I'm looking at you, Torri Hunter)

by alon91 on Oct 13, 2007 12:17 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The guy can't hit?
what are you talking about?

here is his line this year:
AVG .320 | HR 2 | RBI 24  | OBP .367 | SLG .382

better than most of the Rangers outfiled.

He has no pop
but he doesn't try to hit homers. He is perfectly content to beat the ball into the ground and run like hell. I think they said he had over 50 infield hits this year. He is also an incredible bunter. Combine that with great range in center and you have a very valuable player.

by uthornfan on Oct 13, 2007 12:25 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

How bad must it suck to be Cirillo
and get pinch hit for by a pitcher with no one on base and one out, down a run in the bottom of the 11th of game two the WS?
