OT: University of South Florida's season ends
The Bulls lost 30-27 to Rutgers. That spells the official end of their season. Now that they have one loss, they're pretty much right back where they were 12 years ago. No one cares about USF anymore. They might as well forfeit the rest of their games and go home. They are now a non-factor.
Of course, if the Bulls were in the Big 12 or SEC, and had one loss, but to a team worse than Rutgers, and fewer quality wins, then they'd still be right in the thick of the national title race.

Small schools
USF would never have gotten to play for the national championship. LSU would have miraculously passed them in the bcs the last week. This just spares you the agony of being cheated later

LSU
The computer rankings had LSU #2 last week and USF #1, because they had beaten AUburn and WV. I think LSU and OU will be in the title game if they both run the table. They are the best teams in CF, IMO.
Even with this loss, USF does have a decent team and is a good story.

South Florida
Teams like OU, or LSU, just have a track record the last few years, they play in the toughest conferences, and they have all the athletes. We KNOW they're better than USF. We just do.
A computer would rank South Florida very high, and of course it would suck. We'd all have a sick taste in our mouths as #1 undefeated Ohio State played #2 1 loss South Florida for the national title while #3 1 loss OU looked on, because a computer decided their schedule wasn't tough enough. That's why we basically took computers out of the BCS. Cus they dont know shit and always give you the matchup of clearly inferior teams. Which led to some really glaring oversights all those years in the BCS title games.
If South Florida stays near the top for the next couple years, things will be different, and people will give them more respect.
