Can anyone give us non-subscribers a recap of the Baseball America draft rankings article that Jamey mentioned yesterday? Good to hear that they ranked us so high. . .

It was just a list

in an article with many other ranking lists for the 2007 draft. There was no commentary.

is for effect. his mother couldn't spell d-w-a-y-n-e. She put DWYANE on the birth cert. I'm not even sure how it's pronounced. But since he goes by "D-Wade" you have to throw in an obligatory "y" after the "w" to pay homage to the given spelling of his first name.

Mark Connor just shows up to the ballpark to collect a paycheck.

He's right up there with Antawn Jamison in the birth certificate blooper hall of fame.

But I think we all need back up off Dwyade a little. I know he's been getting a little criticism from some of the more boorish folks on this board, but the man is a true humanitarian. Did you know that sometimes when a youth team is practicing using outdated equipment on a crappy outdoor court, Dwyade pulls up in a brand new SUV and gives them a bunch of balls to play with and then gives them a brand new hoop to play on!? And as if that isn't great enough, then Dwyade gives the SUV to the hard working coach! He literally gives the man his car! What a great guy Dwyade is. Is he the perfect human being? The answer is probably 'yes'.
