Bedard on the trading block?

Saw a rumor on yahoo sports that the orioles are looking to trade not only miguel tejada, but erik bedard as well.  The rumor said it was looking for 2-3 major league ready everyday players and would surprisingly look to possible trade bedard to get it.  Would you trade kinsler, blalock and laird and/or a prospect.

That would leave the lineup very barren meaning a potential callup of guys like metcalf, duran, or possible even some combination of hullet, vasquez and if healthy arias or signing a middling vet like lowell or that guy from NY who just opted out (j/k).  It would be a lot to give up and the lineup would be awful, but the rotation would be one of the best we ever had.

And so the off season officially begins...
as we have our first "Laird, Blaylock, and Loe for Santana"-esque proposal.

Blalock*
Engel Beltre is overrated.

Yes, no kidding.
How many times do we see one of these proposals with it spelled "Blaylock"?

Every time?

I was just helping out.

Hank, Laird & a prospect......
or two, but not Kinsler. But I'd like to see the Ranger's make a run at Bedard (we need a another lefty) and stick him at the top of the rotation. Bedard, Millwood, McCarthy, Padilla & Gabbard looks pretty good especially with Volquez & Hurley possibly in the mix.

For what its worth
here is the link:   http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/rumors/post/Tejada-Bedard-on-MacPhail-s-trading-block-?urn=mlb,51219

I am not saying that I want to trade kinsler, or even blalock for that matter, however since we dont have a plethora of good young outfielders to offer I figured that he would need to be involved.  They do have roberts at 2nd however so maybe we could get by not trading kinsler.

And for the previous post by GoET, I am not advocating this trade, I just noticed the rumor and thought you all would be interested and maybe get a little dialogue going.  I am fairly new to this board and have mostly read for a few months, but I have been on the newberg board for several years  and follow both baseball and the rangers intently so I like to think I am not some random noob, but you never know.  Take it for what you want, just passing along the rumor.

Salty for Snell
This one was rumored previously, and I am not sure if there was any legitimacy to it, but if the Rangers are willing to bank on Teagarden as their future C and Davis as their future 1B, then why not acquire a solid young pitcher like Snell?  If the Rangers doubt Salty's ability to stay behind the plate, they should jump at such a deal.

I'm not sold on Snell
One good season. You're willing to trade a guy who probably would have qualified as a top 10 prospect if not for playing in the bigs for a guy who pretty much came out of nowhere to have a fairly good season?
Don't overpay for Ryan Drese, people.

I get the feeling that
the Pirates aren't totally sold on Snell either.

Snell
He had pretty good minor league numbers- about a K an inning and solid BB/K rates as well. I don't know that he's going to be a stud, but I'm pretty sure he won't be another Ryan Drese, either.

Don't see this happening
Bedard is good, young and cheap. Why would they trade him unless they were overwhelmed? And why would we want to be the ones to overwhelm them?

It's not like we're one player away.

If we're planning on adding Bonds, Hunter and Abrue via free agency, then perhaps selling our souls to get Bedard would make sense.

OK
Straighten me out.  Wasn't Eric B shut down late in the season, and wasn't his reason for being shut down pretty hushed?

Exactly
Bedard is the kind of player you keep and build around, since he is a front of the rotation guy and dirt cheap. Why would they trade him? Tejada is expensive and they are years away from contending so I can see that one, but not Bedard. I have heard some stupid trade rumors, and the Orioles are clearly a horribly run franchise, but this one just doesn't seem believable to me.

It would take so much more...
I would begin by offering Hurley, Beltre and one other mid-upper range prospect.  There's no way that they would trade Bedard for anything less.

Bedard in a Rangers Uni
That would be amazing to see.

Lowell
Lowell is more than a middling 3b and is likely to get 4 years from somebody. He was the world series MVP
