you know who's been poor
by Longhorn on Nov 11, 2007 4:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Really?
Schaub: 146-215, 1658 yards, 7 INTs, 5 TDs, 85.0 passer rating
And don't give me the "but Young doesn't have any weapons" crap...Schaub's leading receivers are Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels, and Andre Davis, and Ron Dayne is the team's leading rusher.
by Adam J. Morris on Nov 11, 2007 4:51 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
hmm
all i said was schaub isn't very good, and he isn't...
but, if you want to play that game...young's wr's dropped 3 tds last week. and 4 of those ints were dropped/deflected... it's not crap when it's true.

Schaub
If you think Schaub's been poor, I shudder to think how bad you think VY has been this year.

Romo is a fricken surgeon
Romo will have 4 turnovers, 2 INT's and 2 fumbles. Romo will revert to that too small, turnover prone, 6th round pick Bayless believes he is.
Terrell Owens never makes the big catch at the big time, unlike Plaxico Burress. Plaxico is much better.
The Giants will win in a not close game, 35-17.
So yeah, I'm enjoying this one.

Marion Barber though
I think I'd rather see Jones in there, generally.

Penalty Box - both of you, for being idiots
Jones receiving '07: 13 rec for 129 yds / 9.9 avg / long of 24 / 0 TD's
Jones rushing career: 823 att for 3297 yds / 4.0 avg. / long of 77 / 18 TD's
Jones receiving career: 74 rec for 598 yds / 8.1 avg. / long of 39 / 0 TD's
The Barbarian rushing '07: 112 att for 569 yds / 5.1 avg. / long of 54 / 6 TD's
The Barbarian receiving '07: 24 rec for 182 yds / 7.6 avg. / long of 29 / 1 TD
The Barbarian rushing career: 385 att for 1761 yds / 4.6 avg. / long of 54 / 25 TD's
The Barbarian receiving career: 65 rec for 493 yds / 7.6 avg. / long of 29 / 3 TD's
Barber: 4 career fumbles / 0 lost
Jones: 8 career fumbles / 6 lost
Extrapolated to Jones' career number of carries, and Barber would have committed a similar amount of fumbles, although, Julius Jones appears to lose fumbles when he fumbles.
Of course, Barber is undeniably the superior blocker as well. Barber basically dominates at every phase of the game. Jones has longer receptions on average, but doesn't score at all, because highly paid coaches choose to put the better red zone back in the game when it matters, just like they choose to go to Barber to salt away 4th quarters.
I'd also like to take the liberty to squash that stupid myth that Barber isn't explosive enough. Julius Jones' 77 yard runs tend to come once in a lifetime, when he feels like playing hard. Evidently, it has taken him 8 weeks or so to realize that he is playing in a contract year. He won't be resigned, bookmark me please. Barber has a better "long" run of 54 yards this year to Jones' 25. Barber also has a better "long" reception of 29 yards this year to Jones' 24.
So, Shark, the OC theory is intriguing I guess, but you're catastrophically incorrect on this one.

you what this proves more than anything?
romo and the cowboys in general are a very good team but they didn't show anything that we didnt' already know. the giants were just magnificent at shooting themselves in the foot.
by ab03 on Nov 11, 2007 6:13 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Anyway
I remain really bullish on the team. I think Romo will get better in Garett's offense with time. And Phillips running the defense. Really like to see more from the defense, of course.
Garett has not been able to get a ground game going when it counts though. And yeah, I'd blame him more than any perceived lack of talent, even if Barber is really slow. But, Garrett puts a lot of recievers out in a lot of great patterns, along with good protection, and lets Romo do surgeon work. Story of the season.
