AROD agrees to outline of deal
10 years $270M w/Options worth many more million. Per Buster Olney Boras knows how to keep his player in the spotlight with the Bonds situation going down. lol

I wonder
Boras always likes his players on the open market anyhow, and so it wouldn't really be a concession for him to make such a promise to Hicks, who was so compliant in getting ARod out of town when he wanted.

Genius
When Arod was 25 yrs old he got 252 mil for 10 years, iow, thru age 35.
After 7 years he opts out, and ends up going another 10 yrs. for the largest contract in sports history (eclipsing his own) guranteeing him a paycheck of over 26 million dallars when he is 42 years old.
I find it mind boggling how the burgeouis sports talking heads are all attacking Boras for being shown up.
Christ, the guy just signed his client to a record contract.
What more would a guy want?
p.s. Hell, Boras could have come out and said Arod wanted a BILLION for 10 yrs., and considering the result he got, still considered it a success.

Think about, it is the same number of years as the Hicks/Arod deal and 45 MILLION more dollars and he is 8 years older!!! Won't he be 42 when this contract ends?
