But the Pirates may choose in the end to dish Bay, since their strength, if any, is the outfield, and Bay is slated to make $13.25 million over the next two years. That might not seem like a lot, but it's costly when you're working with a paltry $50 million budget.

LIKE MY MAN ANDRUW HE HAD A BIT OF A DOWN YEAR LAST YEAR COMPARED TO HIS PREVIOUS THREE, BUT HE IS ONLY 29!!! AND 13.5 OVER 2 YEARS LEFT ON HIS DEAL IS CHEAP FOR THE KIND OF PRODUCTION HE IS CAPABLE OF MAKING!!

ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED? WHAT WOULD THE PRICE BE TO GET HIM?

The Price

to get Bay is more than the Rangers need to part with at this time. Trading from a position of strength to land a CF is one thing, but dipping into our farm to land a player like Bay is risky and not in line with the rebuilding process. If we needed a solid LF to complete the package, then yes, Bay would be worth taking a chance on. But seeing how we aren't ready for primetime, trading away parts of our future for a player who could be fading isn't a good move. Just my take.
