Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

OT: Cowboys vs. Packers Open Thread

Biggest game of the year. Already told El Jefe not to expect me in too early tomorrow.

If interested, I stumbled across another "what an all-american good kid Tony Romo is" article, a good one.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d804971a0&template=with-video&confirm=true

Among other things, it says, contrary to the media's incessant claims, that John "My electric toothbrush has to be kickstarted" Elway, not Brett Favre, was his favorite QB growing up.

I have no idea how this game is gonna pan out. There's a kind of lame poll to your right.

Boldass predictions welcome on this thread...

I think that
ESPN is all over Brett Farve's nuts. Worship him like a god, and vastly overrate this Packer team.

I think it will be close in the 1st half, with the cowboys pulling away and a late turnover to seal it. Then Marion just bitchslaps kids for 16 to 22 times and closes it out.

Cowboys 31 Packers 17

What's the deal with this game?
I just looked for it and couldn't find it.

Is it tonight?

Oh, sweet
I didn't think I got NFL Network, but apparently I do. In HD no less.

I watch very little NFL, but I'd be sad if I couldn't watch this game.

I watched Sportcenter at the gym today (there's no option to change the channel on the communal TV), and it was pretty much just an entire hour of hype for this game.

OT: I f'ing hate Sportcenter.

Romo goes an entire game without an interception, Fasano and Hurd come up big, Ware wreaks havoc and Hamlin makes Norm the salivating leader of a suddenly very popular bandwagon.

KDFI in HD?
Their website is claiming the game is in HD.  Where though?  Charter doesn't have a KDFI HD channel, and I'm not sure I've really ever heard of anything connected with them being HD.  Are they maybe going to use Fox's HD feed since KDFI and Fox are connected?

Weren't we 5-0 or whatever without the guy? And then 6-1 or something since? So, we won before, and we won after. I'd say, you were owned if anything. Not only that but I haven't perticularly noticed the defense playing any different since Ellis return.

I've never said the guy sucks..just that A) Any single player is pretty irrelevant (proven time and again) and B) Ellis has been used for parts of two seasons as some sort of catch all excuse whenever the defense sucked, because he was gone, which I think is stupid.

Ellis is the Terry Glenn of the defense. We've been without Terry Glenn all season and by all rights that should be a huge, team crippling injury, if you looked at it before the season. But it just doesn't really matter, and we are 11-1. Except, offensive flaws are not typically blamed on lack of Terry Glenn.

I mean, honestly, I wouldn't really care if Ellis was out for the season tomorrow. It just doesn't really matter. I dont care if he gets some sacks, that's great.

If you're blaming a certain football player for much of anything, you're just misguided, that's the bottom line. Remember that year Flozell Adams was out? Then he came back and we played good..then went back to sucking with him. It all went full circle.

It doesn't mean I'm not happy to see these guys get back..even I allow myself to buy into the talent myth a little bit now and again.

Oh Fuck...
I am a dumbass for puting off a few projects and a paper until tonight to do for tomorrow...

I think I know who's going to take a day off tomorrow...

Shit
I shouldn't a gone to that bar. Due to the rowdy fans I haven't been this deaf since the Hilary Duff concert (little inside joke for you old schoolers).

I dont really have much thoughts on the game. I wasn't happy with our defense. And I dont think Marion Barber is very good. And we caught the benefit of a lot of big penalties tonight. Since I always bitch when we get screwed, I figure I gotta be fair. And the early play where Harris stripped the ball from TO probably shoulda been GB ball as well from what I saw.

Basically
If we were pounding Jamal Lewis or even Julius Jones into the line instead of Barber 15-20 plays a game, I feel we would be a lot better off.

Celts 104 Knicks 59. Thought you might get a kick out of that.

Bastards
here we go with all the excuses. Charles Woodson this, KGB that. Favre this, penaties that. What morons, it's funny when they say Woodson would have stopped TO but then I hear absolutley nothing about, well if Terry Glenn was playing. Those CBs would have got pwned worse with TO, TG, Wit, Crayton.

Joe Dirte.

'they' = ESPN, NFL Network...i have no idea what Skip 'without a clue' Bayless is saying right now. Anybody watching?

Merill Hodge = Skip Bayless < Mark May...yeah, that's saying something.

Al Harris
it seems that Harris did a lot of talking this week, or at least the TV talking heads did a lot of talking for him. Well I don't have the official stats, but it seems to me he gave up 7 or 8 catches for about 150 yards and a couple of touchdowns. That is the definition of getting burnt all night long. And don't talk about his one INT, where he was once again beat for a TD if only TO held onto the ball.

Harris
was essentially a non-factor in the game.

Oh, he was a factor
A decidedly negative one.
Hop on the bandwagon while It's still fashionable: Rickey Henderson for Centerfield in '08!

It is true though
The one pass interference, where their feet got tangled up, was absolutely huge, game changing.

GB has a gripe there.

pass interference
yeah, that was one horrible call... but either way greenbays defense just wasn't good enough last night
Can you please Look into getting a less funny signature? That's sarcasm, btw. - Sharky
