What an old team, now. And, a little 'screw you' to the Blue Jays, who thought they might get Linecum for Alex Rios.

Giants
If you're them, why not?  They have gobs of money and he isn't blocking anybody.  May as well spend some of the bonds money.

well i had no interest in giving him a 5 year deal
but its just one more name gone.

now theres pretty much nothing left on the FA market.  gonna have to make a trade or just go with what we have for 08.

Im guessing there is no way
that we could somehow make a Laird, Blalock, prospects package come together to get Linneceum or Cain?

I know that would never happend, but do we at least have the pieces?

We have the pieces to make...
any big deal. But it would not make much sense to give up 3 or 4 big prospects right now with the direction this team is going.

Giants would not want Laird. Lincecum would probably cost Blalock + Hurley + Beltre/Andrus.

Signing a 30 year old
is their youth movement.
