Bartolo Colon

I would hope that the Rangers seriously look into signing him.  He is definately, in my mind, a risk worth taking.  I am sure he'd be willing to sign and inncentive-laden, low-base contract with perhaps a vesting option.  Granted, he looks like he is a card-carrying member of the Rich "El Guapo" Garces fitness program, but he is a former Cy Young award winner who seemed to pitch relatively well at TBIA.

only if we trade another pitcher imo
i dont want to possibly only have 2 spots for volquez/gabbard/hurley/harrison/galarraga/mendoza/etc. dunring a rebuilding year.

Or release Padilla
To me right now the rotation has 4 guys pretty much locked in barring injury or horrific springs. Millwood, BMac, Gabbard, and Volquez. So either trade Padilla or release him to make room for Colon if thats the route you want to go.

No offense to Colon but he should not be coming in here and taking away time from any of our young starters.

release Padilla?
This isn't the correct time to trade him, and it certainly isn't the correct time to release him.

He is just as likely to be our best pitcher next year as he is to be our worst.  And he is certainly more likely than Colon to put up solid numbers next year.

Crazy
You don't release a guy who has won 14 games 3 of the past 6 years.  If nothing else, Padilla can eat some innings for us the next 2 years.  Else, he comes back to form and is a valuable trade piece.

No way in hell
you release Padilla right now.

I seriously think he is a halfway valuable commodity right now.

And I think Colon has way too many better options to sign here.

If I had to guess,
Colon ends up with the Mets.

Whoa there killer
My previous comments were taken wrong I believe. The point of it was if you did sign Colon it better not be at the expense of one of our young guys (BMac, Gabbard, Volquez) having a spot in the rotation.

I think Padilla will bounce back and have a good year. If he and Millwood combined for 30 wins like they did 2 years ago who knows where this season may go.

But this season is clearly meant to build for the future. I would love for us to make a run like Colorado did last year. One thing that means is not having a 30 something guy coming off injury taking up a rotation spot that a mid 20s guy could be in and developing as a major league pitcher.

What if
in spring training he thinks Duran is some kind of gummi?  I say it's too risky.

Thoughts on Arias, has he been working hard and rehabbing lately?

Colon
It would be cool if he signed with Texas and started posting at LSB like BGL and BGR.  Bartolo could be "AMG" - Ate My Glove.
