Mark Hendrickson is not a sexy name. It is the opposite, in fact. But he may represent a potential bargain among FAs this year.
Last year, he was horrible as a starter for the Dodgers, but when shifted to the bullpen, he became an above average left handed reliever.
In 24 games, spanning 46 innings, he accumulated a 3.69 ERA, a 41:10 K:BB ratio, and a WHIP of 1.1. He was non-tendered by the Dodgers last week after making just under 3 million last season, and I would imagine he will sign for less this year.
If CJ Wilson becomes our closer, we will have a shortage of lefties in our bullpen mix.
Just a quick thought on a very slow day in baseball.
