M's close to signing Silva?
So, remember Carlos Silva? The guy mentioned the past few months (along with Kyle Lohse) as the most likely free agent pitcher to get an absurd contract?
Ken Rosenthal says he's close to a deal with the Mariners:
The Mariners are in serious negotiations with Silva on a contract that would be worth at least $44 million over four years, according to major-league sources.
You can see Silva's stats here. Groundball finesse pitcher who seems to be the new Bob Tewksbury.

Wow
That's ridiculous. Tewskburyesque indeed.
I didn't realize his control was that precise. In a ballpark like Safeco that retards power the way it does, he seems like he'd be a good fit.
And 10mm+ is abut what a #3 costs these days.
I can see that not being a horrible deal for Seattle.

I agree
I def don't think he's a guy we should be after, but Carlos Silva does not make the M's worse.

Go Mariners!
Some Career Splits:
- Lefties hit him rather easily (.311/.350/.493)
- His career road ERA is 4.93.
- Since becoming a starter batters have hit .304 against him.
- After his 75th pitch he becomes extremely hittable, (.343/.365/.528)

Not only that
As a Rangers fan, I like the idea of Seattle making that signing. :D
