OT: Moving to Florida!
Whats up everyone - My girl and I are moving from SD to Florida. I got promoted at work and they are relocating me to Tampa. We'll be driving through Texas, and would like to know if you can recommend any great resturants or places to go in San Antonio. Looks like we're going to stay there for a night before heading East. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Don't forget.....
Last time I was in Tampa during spring training I was at a dinner with some customers. About 10 minutes before we left A-rod and Tino Martinez show up with 2 hotties ( I assume their wives but what do I know) and sit down right behind us. The man is friggin huge. I don't see how a person gets that big without some....ehem....vitamins.

Florida
The mesquitos really aren't that bad. Maybe it depends on what part of Florida you're in, but I never really had any problems with them in Tampa Bay. Stay away from swampy areas and you should be okay.
The humidity is bad, but that also depends on where you plan on living in Tampa Bay, its obviously nicer on the coast (or even just being close to the coast).
Have you already decided to live in Tampa, or are you looking for any smaller communities to settle down into, and then commute?

Dolores
My office will be in Tampa, but I've been looking online for other communities. As long as I'm within 30 mins of the airport, and my office, I'm good.

I'm actually from Pinellas County
I'm actually from Dunedin (where the Blue Jays play ST). Not a bad little town. About 40 minutes away from the airport with traffic. But you're probably going to want to be a little closer. Nice cities: Brandon, Town and Country, Oldsmar, Saftey Harbor, Palm Harbor (furthest but one of the nicest).

Corporate Recruiter
(avg recruiter gross 50-80k/yr)
Qualifications: College degree. Sales experience. Reliable Transportation. Clean criminal background. Common sense and general knowledge of Word, excel & Powerpoint.

Hm
I've gotta degree. No sales experience in a corporate context, but I used to run my own business. I have a reliable car. I was arrested once but there was no conviction. I think I have common sense and I'm okay at using computers, although I'd have to learn powerpoint.
I'd love to move back to DC, but my life is kind of tumultuous right now and it's probably not a good idea to move that far away from family. You probably want somebody with corporate sales experience, anyway. How many sales calls or whatever would your person in DC probably make in a typical, by the way? Driving in the district is difficult and time consuming.
I guess it's just interesting for me to hear what kinds of jobs are out there and about how much they pay. And I wonder if I could ever get hired in any of these "normal" businesses. It seems I always end up with oddball stuff.
