Is there a (big) trade coming?

Just wondering......the last few days someone threw out a Westbrook/Casey Blake for Aki/Wilk (maybe throw in Bauer and/or a prospect)......or a possible deal with the Phillies, Burrell/Leiber for Aki/Wilk/Bauer and/or a prospect. Burrell is slated for $13M this year and $14M next, Leiber $7.5M (but only 1 year), that deal would save the Phil's $12.5M this year and get them out from under Burrell's $14M next year. They're looking for someone to set-up Gordon and want to shed money, so????

Burrell

As much as I'd like to see the Rangers acquire him (or Adam Dunn) Burrell has a full no-trade clause. He's also expressed a preference to stay on the East Coast, though I don't know how firm he is about that.

I just don't see it happening, even though a deal with the Phillies makes a good deal of sense. And not just because JD usually gets the better of Gillick, either.

Eaton

Has anyone else been surprised by the number of writers (both local and national) who consider Eaton a big loss to the Rangers?

I'm pretty sure Eaton was either injured or sucked for the Rangers last year. Maybe in the Bizarro Universe, where poor performance is rewarded, Eaton was a "good" pitcher. But not in the world the rest of us live in. Forgive me if I'm not that broken up about another team overpaying for his useless butt.

he's going to be touted as a big loss. Cuz, we all know that Texas needs pitching.

Anytime we lose an even less than mediocre starter we're going to be cast as the losers of the deal, if we don't get a starter in return.

TBIA was built for a lefty power hitter...

and i dont want to trade wilkerson yet. his value is at rock bottom and i dont ever think a player shoudl be traded when his value is as low as it can be

Sori/Wilkerson trade

I didn't like it when it happened and I still don't like it. Wilkerson needs to have a big year this year. But that trade is the past just like the Young/Eaton trade and we all need to move on.

He's a Texas boy, too......I don't know much about Cincy, is there a fit for a trade? What's their closer situation? Do we have anything else they'd want?
