Last year, MLB.TV brought us the "MLB.tv Mosaic" which was a great piece of software that allowed us to switch between games, using a multi-panel platform. The software made it possible to watch 6 games at once on smaller panels if you wanted to, or you could just watch the one game you were looking for. It also included a player-tracker, which alerted you when players from your fantasy team were stepping to the plate.

After renewing my mlb.tv standard subscription ($14.95/month), and getting ready to launch Mosaic for the first time since last season, I noticed another subscription option. MLB is offering the "MLB.TV Premium" subscription this year. It's $19.95/month and it's the ONLY way to get Mosaic this season.

This annoys me. I'm sure they've seriously upgraded the software and fixed existing bugs, but $5 MORE per month for software that was FREE of charge last season? It's the only upgrade over the standard subscription, so that has to be where your $5 goes, right?

Have any other mlb.tv users noticed this? If so, what's your take?
