The Newberg Report...

What is wrong with The Newberg Report? I have not been able to get on most of the day. Is it down or just under some reconstruction.

Way to go Mavericks...I think that we got under their skin. Game three in California on Friday at 9:30 that is a late game. I am just rambling trying to get to 300 characters.

Sad to see the Stars go...Boy do they need some offense, I think they missed the boat on not resigning Arnot or Guerin.

It's been a frustrating couple days. I'm about to send an email out with details, but things should be back up and running today, or tomorrow at worst.

It's a shame

the Newberg Report has never had a strong technical partner, like Adam has with the SportsNation folks. It seems like it has always had little technical hiccups of one kind or another.

It doesn't surprise me that the site was hacked via the foums, the forums ran on phpbb which has always been a haven for hackers and script kiddies because of its gaping holes and exploits.
In the new version of the forum i'd highly suggest staying away from phpbb

Its just a shame

that you have to go to much lengths to secure a fan site. Its not like Newbergreport.com throws off so much revenue you can justify security measures that cost anything.

yup

but in this day and age, it doesn't matter what your site is you've got to take every measure you can.
I'm not totally up to speed on what the problems are with phpbb other than my web developer friends all refuse to use it because of its major security flaws that are never fixed quickly. too bad i can't remember what software they said to use...i know there are several free ones out there

The forum is moving
Two days ago, the Newberg Report site was taken down by an intrusion through this forum. The intrusion has caused major disruptions in the Newberg Report website. Jamey and I have been working to repair the damage done and hope to have the site up and running again soon. We haven't isolated the problem or the culprit yet however, it is now necessay to move the forum to a site dedicated to hosting forums such as this as they are better equipped to handle this type of malicious activity. We will be taking the forum offline for the time being as we move the forum database and the forum site to a new server. Hopefully, the forum will be back up and running within a day or two. We apologize for this but we are continually trying to make this site one of the best, if not the best fan site in all of sports. We certainly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Whew...transgendered baseball analysts, malicious hackers, global warming, JD's trade motivations...Man oh man there is a lot of stuff in this world that I don't understand.
