mlb.tv using a proxy

Has anyone been able to get this to work yet this season? I'm having trouble running into "server errors" when I try to watch a game. Here's what it says when I try to open a game on mlb.tv while behind a proxy:

"Server busy. Please try back again soon.

500 error. Server Error"

When I'm not using the proxy I can watch out of market games.

Try different proxies

They're notoriously unreliable and short lived, especially if you're using a free public one.

Ya, I've probably tried around 50 counting last night and today. Have you been able to use one on mlb.tv this year?

your most likely problem

is that you're using proxies located outside the US. A large number of the "anonymous free proxies" are located in SE Asia. I'm pretty sure that MLB will block access to anywhere outside the US.

Your best bet might be to get a friend that lives outside of the Rangers market and get them to setup a proxy server that you can leach off of. Otherwise, you'll probably have the same issue everytime.

Grrrr!

Living in Oklahoma I was able to catch all the games on MLB.tv. This year suddenly I'm blacked out of all Ranger, Astro, Cardinals, and Royals games. Talk about crappy service! I have Dish TV so now it appears I'll only be able to see the few games broadcasted by ESPN.

I'm going to call to get my money back. I loved the service the previous two years but this is now worthless to me.

UGH

I'm already having issues with the thing buffering over and over again, and not playing.
Right Click > Statistics says that the thing is being sent in a range of (30 to 250 kbps). Kind of pisses you off when they advertise it at 400kbps, which is what it takes to actually get it streaming correctly.
