LoneStarBall.Com

Worth $27,500

Interesting site:

http://www.dnscoop.com/

Somehow you don't get a lot of hits from MSN Adam.  Not sure what that means.  You're moving up in the world Cuban der I mean Morris.

Now everyone will be running their trafficed sites through this thing to waste some of the day.  I need a nap, but need to get to 300

$62,696
That's the worth of Rotojunkie.com, which I am a writer and part owner of. Sweet.

I think
They are hypothetical values. Plus, I only own 13% of the site.

Heh.
My site is worth $0 dollars.  I just started it on Saturday afternoon, though.

Funny
My family's personal site is worth $2,690,000. But that's because the parent domain is mysite.verizon.net I don't believe my individual site would be worth anything by itself.

Interesting
My business site, new last October, has many link-to's and some ranking, but is worth $0.  Yet I know the Commerce Department would easily pay $60,000 for the service on a half time, when needed basis.  (That's from Commerce, not me) And as yet, I have no ads on the site.

A personal site I have 'tucked away' which is really hard to find (only two engine links) is worth $22.  It's a couple of years older. And no ads, on purpose.  Yet it gets about 2,000 unique users per year.

Evidently the time value means a lot in their algorithm.

Time does funny things. The worst of which is, it keeps moving when you don't.

my site was worth $60 bucks
more importantly though, I got an email this afternoon from my webhost saying I needed to add an extra 150 MB of storage space to my hosting plan.  I know I'm nowhere near that threshold so I go to figure out why.  Looking at my control panel, they changed the setup back in December to forward my emails to a yahoo.com account, but to leave a copy of the email on the server.  So I had 780MB of email stored on the server in addition to the 84MB of stuff on the website.

Now I'm trying to figure out a way to delete 74,022 emails from the server.  Their webmail program can't handle that many pages of mail, and I didn't want to have all that old spam clogging up my Thunderbird mailbox.  So I setup outlook express to download everything.  Its been going for about 30 minutes now and has ~14,000 messages downloaded.  That's a little less than a month's worth of messages.

That's right, I get 14,000 Spam messages a month.  KILL ME NOW.

one way around that
should be to call the hosting company and have them run a script to delete them all

that's what I'll do if this doesn't work
that or delete the account and reopen it once the old mail gets deleted.  That's probably what I should have done in the first place.

It says my site
That I have updated about 4 times about a year ago, but still leave it up, is worth $41.

It also says I cant make $15 an ad and therefore $120 a month, not much lower than what it said for LSB (19/152) weirdly.

You have a web site?

It's my videogame site
It used to a link to hilaryfan on the sidebar but I even took that down.

I dont wanna post a link I'm shy.

Still wondering why Adam's 8 billion times my visitors only gets him $4 more per ad. Either marginal traffic is worthless or that site's algorithms are borked.

Or...

well, that's probably what the domain is worth
based on traffic.  The brand, resources, and other services make it worth substantially more.

What I find interesting is that the site is worth that much and yet there's no advertising on the front page.  The clean look is part of what makes it so valuable, but its still impressive that they've not allowed some kind of advertising.

This algorithm is weird...
I have an old gaming site that basically get zero traffic right now, but the domain is apparantly worth over $2,000.

Strange.

It's not because of traffic either, because it gave a very low price for ad placement, which I would assume is based on traffic.
