I know this may be the first time I have posted anything that does not criticize Wilkerson, but I wanted to discuss our strategy this weekend against LAAAAA. Can anyone justify pitching to El Diablo? They are under an injury plague and I would much rather walk every at-bat during this four game series and force their other players to beat us then allow a solo homerun to this man. The pitching matchups do not favor the Rangers and with Vlad's success against our entire staff (esp. Padilla). I do not understand why would risk it. Reagardless of where our record is prior to this series, we still have an opportunity to put ourselves at the top of the division come Monday afternoon.

I would love to see Vlad have 15 walks or so this

weekend, but Wash seems to be convinced they can slow him down w/ that big shift.

probably utilize the shift and pitch him every thing inside to get him to pull the ball. But, by pitching inside, they will probably miss a few times and in essence, it will be like pitching around him.

However, he is fast enough to turn on a ball and lift it to RF no matter how high they pitch him, and its also possible that padilla doesn't get the message and just plucks vlad three times.

I'm all for beaning Angels...

but Vlad is one of the good-guys - don't hit him. Just walk him.

I agree, there is no reason to pitch to the man, unless there are two outs, no one on base, and up by six runs.

Vlad the Ranger Impaler....

I always hate to see the Rangers play Cali because they just cannot beat this team, mainly due to the superior Angels Pitching, but also due to the fact the Vlad owns the Rangers, no matter who wears the Rangers uniform., I would at least love to see them walk him rather then pitch to him in certain spots.
