with that call.  they had to make the perfect throw and did.  if that ball is up the 1st base line he scores.  you have to take that chance there.

...about a rules change that was going to speed up the game because batters would not be able to leave the box during an AB.

Why make a rule like that then just ignore it?

I haven't seen a single instance where the umps tried to enforce that rule.  Nothing changed but the rule book I guess.
