NY Post - Teixeira rift with Wash?

This is from an NY Post story on Giambi:

"Before Yankee fans get hot about their team acquiring right-handed hitting first baseman Mark Teixeira from the Rangers, forget it. The Yankees know the Rangers are shopping him due to a rift between Teixeira and first-year manage Ron Washington and don't plan on talking to them.

The Rangers are looking for high-end pitching (Phil Hughes?) and outfield help (Cabrera?) for a player who makes $9 million this year and is eligible for arbitration after the 2008 season."

I've heard the Heyman rumor about potential issues with Wash, but no names were mentioned.

they didnt like buck apparently, and now we hear they don't like wash.... is there a manager who the players would like!?

If there's a rift anywhere...

it'd have to be between Mike, Teix, and Millwood against Hicks, JD and Wash. I'd be pissed too, and ask to be traded.

Young, Teixeira, and Millwood stand to make in the area of 90, 30, and 60 million dollars respectively, in the short time they will be here.

If they're pissed, the way they have played, they need a punch in the mouth.

If you want to win, maybe you should do more things to contribute to winning. Like, you know, being good at baseball.

Though I find it hard to fault the way Big Seixy has played. He's done an awful lot of mashing.

why on earth would the yankees even care?

teixeira has a very good reputation and has said everything right and contributed to lots of charity events and generally been a good guy.

and somehow a "rift" with washington that i doubt is anywhere near as serious as he makes it sound makes him unworthy to be a yankee?

he offers it as a reason for why the rangers would want to trade tex.

and olney said the same thing citing "scouts" (maybe where the post got their information)

Teixeira is a switch-hitter, not a right-handed hitter.

He's eligible for free agency, not arbitration, after the 2008 season.
