Around SBN: Notre Dame's Turnaround: How Have The Irish Done It?

Another waste of a diary...

Seems to be the consenus 'round here that Tex is either gonna get traded or should be traded.  Not real sure where i sit on this one, but since Boras seems intent on gettin Tex to the free agent market, i guess i would be for getting a return for the one time 5th overall(?) pick made good.  My question is a familar one... what to expect in return?  Could a packege of the likes of Aki/Gagne and Tex not get a guy like andrew miller back from the Tigers?  is this a pipe dream?  is there really an offer that the dodgers could put together that would trump Miller? Are the Tigers that hard up for bullpen help/another bat? If the rangers can string together Miller, McCarthey, and Hurley in a rotation.... wouldnt that be worth cashing in your two most valuable tading chips?? is anyone else tired of having nothing much to talk about other than prospects and trades involving one of our better hitters?

im higher on adam miller.
in fact im not sure i wouldnt rather have adam miller.

and i would give aki or gagne + any prospects(s?) in our org other than kiker/hurley for adam miller.

andrew miller:
at high A:
1-4, 3.48 era, 7 starts, 41.1 IP, 15:28 k:bb, .264 BAA, 1 HR allowed, 1.40 WHIP
at AA:
2-0, .59 ERA, 4 starts, 30 IP, 5:24 k:bb, .208 BAA, 2 HR allowed, .88 WHIP
in majors:
2-1, 3.63 era, 3 stars, 17.1 IP, 9:13 k:bb, .242 BAA, 3 HR allowed, 1.44 whip

overall minor league:
3-4, 2.25 ERA, 20:52 bb:k, 11 starts, 72 IP, 3 HR allowed, .242 BAA, 1.18 WHIP

andrew miller is 6'6'', 210 and 5/21/1985

adam miller at AAA:
4-1, 2.45 era, 7 starts, 44 IP, 14:39 k:bb, .228 BAA, 2 HR allowed, 1.16 WHIP

adam miller is 6'4'', 175, 11/26/1984

thats just me though...after looking at the stats, didnt realize that adam was older than andrew

i still think id rather have adam over andrew, but thats just me...

and FWIW - id think gagne/teix might come CLOSE to hughes who i would MUCH rather have

of course #1 on the list of young SP id love to have is tim lincecum but i dont see that happening...

We're not trading prospects.......
unless it's some fringe guy, a throw in. We'll be getting back prospects, not losing them..... Tex, Gagne, Aki (who I hope we keep), Benoit, Mahay, Lofton, Cat (any value?), etc.....should get 2-3 top prospects, plus maybe a young major leaguer for the first 3, but probably not so much for the others.
