OT: Greensboro, NC
I have been offered a job there (currently live in Frisco). Nice offer, but can't decide if I want to take it.
Anybody have any opinions of Greensboro?

It's very nice
I'd rather live there than in the urban sprawl of Frisco.

Dallas, meh
No offense to anyone as I enjoyed my time in Dallas, but there's absolutely nothing special about Dallas or it's metro area.

Unlike seemingly most of this blog
Like someone said above, from a sports culture perspective, they really do love NASCAR and college basketball (obviously) there, so that would get a little old for me, but I mean you have the hockey team there and the Panthers and Bobcats within day trip driving distance at least. And while there is no MLB you do have all of the minor league baseball.
The other thing that I find interesting about the area is that, at least in Raleigh-Durham, you have a very liberal, tree hugging mindset. And you have a little of the East Coast thing trickling down, but then you're also right on the edge of the South and you definitely know it. It's an odd mix.

Greensboro/Spartanburg Area

I dunno
But unless you are a mountain-loving outdoor aficionado, Frisco (and DFW, Austin, S.A., and prob Houst) beats the heck out of any city in NC, especially Charlotte. The triangle is pretty cool, cooler than Charlotte, which is essentially the largest small town in the country. I haven't been to Greensboro.
It really depends on what your interests are/what's important.
A very pretty state. It's beauty beats the hell out of Texas and probably 35-40 other states. Outer banks are awesome. Mountains are transcendent. ABC stores suck ass.
Are you a devout Anglo-Saxon Southern Baptist? Have kids? That would probably help, but no more than it helps in Texas. Like to hunt? Same.
One cool thing about N.C., you are an easy road trip away from so many great cities. Savannah, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Orlando (meh), D.C., Richmond, Virginia Beach, Bawlmer, Philly, A.C., Nashville. All within 7-8 hours. Each with a different flavor. NY, Boston, Montreal, Niagara Falls, etc. just a little further. Still closer than Vail is to Frisco.
In my opinion, that's a big bonus.
Depends on your situation...

Central NC bonuses
Its very pretty and very centrally located. semi-close to DC, i wouldnt turn it down just based on location. Check out the state tax situation, if its making any money, u wanna know the difference so u can ask for it in salary negotiations.
Raleigh Durham is filled with colleges and high tech businesses so u get the austin crowd kinda. Duke, UNC etc.
Great Basketball area, kids play it anywhere from dirt driveways with milk crates to cameron indoor.
its cooler than texas but not a ton, they get their 90+ degree days like the rest of us but i liked the area a bunch and if ur into outdoorsy activities it beats texas hands down.
i love texas, but i lived in NC for 18 months and had no problems and the people arent that different. u wont get a bunch of yappy yankees if that matters at all.
