Diamondbacks and Teixeira

With all the talk about Teixeira and the Dodgers, Braves, or Yankees, I really think we are overlooking the most obvious and realistic trade partner for Teixeira: The DBacks.

They are certainly in the playoff race in a very tight NL West. In the meantime, their leading hitters are Chad Tracy and Eric Byrnes. To say the least, they could use a solid, middle of the lineup hitter like Teixeira.

A package like Micah Owings, Connor Jackson, and Carlos Quentin for Teixeira and Gagne would certainly interest me.

In any event, I think Arizona will be one of the teams that makes a big push for Teixeira's services and they match very well with Texas in a trade. Just a thought.

Arizona's bullpen has been pretty solid

and I don't see them giving back both Quentin AND Jackson in a deal...maybe one of them.

I'd probably do the deal for Quentin and Owings at this point.

Yeah

I suggested this a couple weeks ago, and no one was into it...

Between Conor Jackson and James Loney, I slightly prefer the former.

I just don't see them trading jackson. maybe one of the other two, but they seem real high on jackson

Jackson, I think they want to hold on to him long term. With all the young talent they have I don't see them doing anything except a rental, and I think outfielder and catcher are good candidates. Byrnes is a FA this winter, so maybe they try to trade for someone they can extend -- or get a rental, then re-sign Byrnes and put a youngster back in after the rental is gone.

Sounds good on paper...

IF the d'backs feel like they could sign him long term...but i think most teams if not all realize Tex wants to be on the east coast..as in Baltimore..his childhood dream.. I think thats going to happen eventually..and I think the Orioles will give him what he wants..so for a 1.5 year rental to give up all that talent.. I wish..it would be nice not to have to face him too often ..so I like the trading to an N.L. team concept..
