FYI - Law Chat on ESPN.COM

2 Ranger related items:
Jason (Wichita): How about the top 3 picks from the Rangers Beavan, Main, and Borbon?
Keith Law: (2:58 PM ET ) I rated their day-one draft as the best. Main really seems to be underrated - great stuff, great athlete, good track record, appears to have slipped because his last outing wasn't good. Borbon was a good value play there; a lot of teams saw him as a first-rounder, and as a college bat he should put up good #s in A-ball. A CF who performs in high-A or AA has trade value.
---------------------------------
Jonathan (Mansfield, Tx): Did the Rangers pass on Porcello b/c of signability issues/Boras? Or did they just like Beavan and Main better?
Keith Law: (3:23 PM ET ) I'm assuming it was signability, but they didn't exactly go cheap.

Yeah, I worry too much about my negativity.
Someone posted about my negativity when I posted about Mayberry, and how if he hadn't learned to hit well after growing up with a major league dad, and after going to Stanford, there was a very good chance he would never hit well enough to make the majors.
I was told I was negative when I said that Scott Heard was much more likely to make the Home Depot Softball team than the Rangers.
Someone made a post about my negativity when I mentioned that since Teixeira was likely to go free agent, investigating his trade value made sense.
Now I'm being told I'm being negative for daring to suggest that a guy who isn't a very good hitter in the SEC with an aluminum bat will have similar trade value to another prospect that some oohed and ahhhed over because he was such an electric player.
Yeah, its amazing about my negativity.
By the way, congrats to the Rangers on winning and getting up to .361 ball.

Even a broken clock
If you're negative about everything and everyone, then eventually you're going to be right.

Mayberry
And Mayberry is different. The thought on him was that he had a hole (several holes?) in his swing and would need a complete overhaul to succeed.
The knock on Borbon is that he doesn't walk enough to be a successful hitter unless he hits .300+.
I'm not real fond of the Borbon pick, but to say he won't succeed cause "hey, look at Mayberry" is lazy, and to put Mayberry on JD is ignorant.

Ahhh...
Don't know why I'd read it like that.
Stupidity, perhaps? Maybe my overly handsome facial features are finally beginning to affect my reading comprehension.
I apologize.
