OT: KG to the Mavs??

While I'd like to believe there is something to this, the only place that is reporting this is Yahoo rumors. I would love to pair KG with Dirk, but I just don't see the Mavs and Wolves matching up well as trade partners. Has anyone else seen or heard anything about this?

"Trade talks for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett shifted from a possible Phoenix destination, with the Dallas Mavericks seriously entering the discussions for the first time, according to a league source. The teams talked extensively Thursday but could not reach an agreement on specifics, according to another source.

Gerald Wallace

is going to look good in a Mavs uni.

Mavs are NOT trading Harris, Howard, or Dirk, and are thus not going to be making major changes.

Anyone interested in Darko? What kind of contract is he in line for?

I heard

that rumor on Friday, and Donnie Nelson neither confirmed nor denied it but did say "he isn't in Phoenix is he." I think they tried to muck it up a bit, but not sure any real intent. I have heard they say Josh, Dirk, and Devin are untouchable. With those three untouchable there isn't a chance in hell they make a HUGE trade.

Devin's probably untouchable unless he's the major piece in a Garnett Trade. I'd keep J-Ho at the 3, play Dirk and KG in a weird 4/5 combo, start Stackhouse or Ager if he's ready at the 2 and I guess (sigh) Terry at the 1...but I'd really like to dump Terry in a major trade instead of Devin. But if we had to give Devin up, sign a veteran point.

HOWEVER, there's no chance we get KG without giving up J-Ho. And apparently we're after P.J. Brown full-force now.

I would LOVE to see Gerald Wallace in a Mavs uniform, but his price tag is going to be way too high.

Bulls are not going to give up Deng, Gordon, Thomas/Wallace, etc...
It's a matter of who can afford to get him and is willing to give up the players for him; narrows the field substantially. Shaq did NOT WANT to be traded, Kobe does...

is the one I am hoping for. Excellent defensive player, great athlete. It will be very hard to pull off getting him though, it would take a sign and trade.

I would include Harris....

in a S&T deal with Charlotte to get Wallace. I think Harris is going to top out as a solid backup PG, a slightly below avg starting PG at best. I guess I am not seeing in Harris what many others are.
