Botts went yard again tonight

absolutely crushed it.  It was weird being at the Redhawks game tonight because I sat behind none other than CHoP.  He seemed like a nice guy when he was talking to people, but man did he set this organization back.

Other thoughts:

  1.  Freddy Guzman sure seems to dog it running down the line if it's not a clear hit
  2.  Mark Redman is done.  Dude's best days are behind him
  3.  Drew Meyer also done.  He's hitting in the low .200s and just looks bad at the plate.
  4.  Chris Stewart looks to be a real good defender.  Not impressed with his bat
  5.  Nate Gold din't do anything before I left (8th)
I'll say this, other than Jason Lane for Round Rock I was very un-impressed with those dudes.

Mark Redman
Did he ever have a good day?

Who cares?
Botts sucks and he obviously can't hit major league pitching. He's had a really fair chance to prove himself at the ML level, and he didn't do it. Why is he even on the 40? He'd clear waivers. He sucks. Everyone knows it. Keeping him in AAA is just taking AB's away from real prospects.

clearing waivers
I could see execs assigned to Botts watch on every team when he inevitably gets dropped from the 40.
Forget Johnny Bench, we got Gerry "the Jet" Laird

Exactly
If Botts were a movie, Clint Eastwood would be his director...

Nelly Cruz
He's sure putting up some numbers down there.  I wonder if he has his confidence back?  10 homers in 105 at-bats?  1.113 OPS.
You're just a very misguided individual, Dustin. -- Sharky

Let me say this about Nellie
He got a healthy dose of curveballs every at bat and he didn't look very good.  Very Pedro Cerrano like.

Cruz..
I read that he has changed his stance since the demotion. Opened it up some.

by Topgun22 on Jul 13, 2007 11:16 AM CDT up reply actions

It's definately
openned up.  Actually, I had forgotten about that and when he went up to the plate the first time I thought to myself that something didn't look right.  I then remembered he opened up his stance.

OT:  I am pretty sure I saw Jr. Spivey at the game and overheard him saying he was back in town for his dad's surgery today.  What happened to Jr.?  I thought he was pretty good with Arizona the year they won it all.

Charting pitches/running the team gun?
Park has been with Round Rock, and you'll tend to see one or two starting pitchers between starts rotating through that responsibility in the minors.

by Brett Perryman on Jul 13, 2007 8:18 AM CDT up reply actions

Yep
Park was charting pitches.

Not quite sure yet, but I think ...
... that I'll be attending the Hurley/CHoP matchup on Sunday afternoon.

Just trade Botts now
Why go through the Merry Go round of bringing up to the majors and letting him hit a year or two?

We should just start trading guys right after we draft them.

The team can just be little leaguers or something to fill out the roster.

YOU CAN'T TRADE BOTTS
he and Adam J. Morris are supposedly getting married upon his call-up.

wait till the offseason.  then trade both.
